(Bonus Post) Finding Joy by Being Great at 48

I know this is a little early, but I had to take a few moments and express what joy I found about getting older.

First off I have to tell you that I had my Birthday yesterday and turn a big 48. That's right 48. I know I don't really sound like I'm 48. And people tell me that I don't look 48 either, and frankly I really don't feel 48 either.

I guess this is my point. In my pursuit of finding Joy and living a Happier life I have decided that I am not going to let my age of 48 get me down. There are a lot of things that can get me down about my age. I'm single and have always been single, and so I don't have any kids. I have gray hair, which I refuse to let grow out, and my body does not like to function as well as it did when I was younger. And lastly, I don't have my dream Job.

So I can let all this get me down or I can flip it, and work on thinking of the positive and find the joy, after all most of these things I can actually work on. And I can focus on being the age I am and who I am.

First off, like my mom always tells me, age is a matter of attitude. And I have a very youthful attitude. Take yesterday for instant. I had a great Birthday. I ate at my favorite restaurant, had fun with my family and a couple of friends. But even before that I just drove home listening to some old tunes and just rocked out. Who says just because you're old...er that you can't rock out to your favorite tunes. I don't think anyone even noticed me and if they did they saw I was having fun, because that's what I was doing is just having fun.

I think I might just be babbling and really not making any sense. I'm just so excited about my new look on life and even though I turned 48 I'm not going to get me down and I'm going to be great at 48. So this is my little advice for anyone feeling a little to old, don't. Let loose have some fun and remember you can find your Joy with just the simple things.

Have a great day and until next time; listen to your favorites and ROCK OUT!
