Finding Joy, while being Single on Valentines Day

     Happy pre-Valentines, 

Sorry for coming to you so late in the day. We had to take my mom to the ER last night and was up most the night. This is the first time I've had a chance to write. She's doing much better so I feel ok to sit down and share a few thoughts.

Ok, tomorrow is V-day, the big day for LOOOVVVEEE, don't get me wrong I think love is great, I just have never been that lucky.

So what is a single woman to do on this day made for couples.

This is what I want to talk about today. Ways to find Joy, while being single on Valentines.

First off if you have a significant other that is great, I'm not haten,but this particular blog is for those of us that aren't as fortunate.

Ladies, I hope that no one is sitting at home feeling sorry for themselves, because they don't have a man in their life. Sure it would be great to have that special someone, but women are resourceful and we can find our own joy and be our own Valentine.

Let me just share a few ways that I have done to make this day special.

I'm lucky to live with my sisters and my mom lso I do have someone to do things with, but you can get together with some of you single friends and do some of these things.

1. Go out to dinner, who say you can't get dressed up and enjoy a good meal. Make it a girls night and celebrate being an independent woman. If your mom is divorced or sadly widowed, I'm sure she would love to be invited out.

2. Go out to a movie, see something that you would normally not go see if you were on a date.

3. Have a video party. You can make it a themed party. Watch something with a strong female character. A really teary love story, the kind that only women understand. Have fun and make it a Disney  night, or super heroes. Or watch something that you can really enjoy some sweet eye candy. Point is just have fun with it.

4. Do something special for yourself. I haven't done this for awhile, but when I was in college I use to  buy myself a card, a balloon or even a flower. It may sound pathetic, but I didn't do it because it was Valentines and I didn't have anyone in my life.  I did it because, I did it at different times of the year. I did it because it brought me joy.

So that's my whole message today. Even though it would be nice, we can find Joy by giving ourselves  are own Valentine. Now go out and have a great V-day and have fun. As for me and my sisters we will be doing this day of love in the hospital with our mom.
